McCulloch II

McCulloch II is a four-storey, wood framed building with 48 one-bedroom units comprised of 6 accessible suites and 42 adaptable suites for low to moderate income seniors, including those with a disability. The building is an addition to Vernon Pensioners Accommodation Society’s original 6 storey building McCulloch Court. Amenities include a gym, a large landscaped roof top patio, and ground floor parking. A laundry room and offices are located on the ground floor. The building also offers scooter and bike parking and meets BC Energy Step Code 3 targets. It is well-located in the downtown area, close to amenities including transit, shopping and a senior’s centre.

Terra worked with the Society to successfully apply fand receive funding for the project under the 2018 Building BC: Community Housing Fund. Additional funding includes seed funding from CMHC, support from the City of Vernon’s Rental Incentive Program, and society equity including the land.

Terra provided a full range of development management services for this project from origination to completion.

The Vernon Pensioners Accommodation Society has been providing housing and amenities for seniors for over four decades and had a significant number of waitlisted applications for housing which identified the need for this new project. McCulloch II was completed and occupied in 2023, helping to address the shortage of affordable seniors housing in the Vernon area.
