Terra is pleased to welcome Dan Watson to our team as a Development Manager. Dan is an urban planner who is passionate about transforming communities into vibrant places that thrive socially, economically, and environmentally. Adept at creative problem-solving and navigating complex development processes, he’s dedicated to making cities better for everyone.
Before joining the team at Terra this year, Dan was a key player on the Smart Cities team of a leading technology firm, where he championed the use of data-driven solutions and innovative technologies to empower cities to tackle their most pressing challenges. In his earlier work as a planning consultant, Dan managed complex approvals processes to help clients turn their project visions into reality.
Beyond his professional work, Dan contributes his expertise as President of the Board of the Association of Neighbourhood Houses of British Columbia (ANHBC), supporting the development of equitable, diverse, and caring communities. He also serves on the Urbanarium Debate Organizing Committee, helping to foster dialogue around the most important urban issues.
Dan earned his Master of Planning Degree from the University of Calgary, where he was honoured with the Alberta Professional Planners Institute’s Danny Makale Silver Medallion, which is awarded to the top graduating Master of Planning student. Dan is a member of the Planning Institute of British Columbia (PIBC) and the Canadian Institute of Planners (CIP).
