Terra provided development management services to complete this project that addresses homelessness in Kelowna.  Terra worked with the Society to garner public support for the project, including drafting a Community Agreement with neighbours.

Cardington was funded through the Provincial Homelessness Initiative (PHI) and built on land provided by the City of Kelowna.  It offers 30 units of supportive housing for adults living with mental health and addictions issues, with the goal of helping them to live independently.  The Interior Health Authority provides support services to the residents.  The four-storey building also houses the offices of the Society.  Arborvitae (Tree of Life), a public art commission by Oliver Harwood and Marie Bortolotto, graces the entrance of the building.

The project won a 2008 Gold Tommie Award for Excellence in Affordable Housing and a 2009 OMREB Commercial Building Award for best mixed use project.
