The Vernon Pensioners Accommodation Society has been providing housing and amenities for seniors for over four decades. The Society had a significant number of waitlisted applications for housing and identified the need for this new project to help address the shortage of affordable seniors housing in the Vernon area.
The Society’s new housing project will provide 42 one bedroom and 6 accessible one bedroom units for low to moderate income seniors, including those with a disability.
The project is located at 3400 Coldstream Avenue in Vernon, on Society-owned land adjacent the original McCulloch Court building operated by the Society. It is well-located in the downtown area, close to amenities including transit, shopping and a senior’s centre.
Terra worked with the Society to successfully apply for funding for the project under the 2018 Building BC: Community Housing Fund and is providing development management services to the Society.
